Terms and conditions
These terms set out what you can expect from The Company that Helps, and what we expect from members, brand partners and applicants.
Last updated August 2026
1. The agreement
By creating an account you agree to these terms with The Company that Helps Ltd. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. You must be at least 18 years old to hold a membership or apply to the fund.
2. Membership and payment
Membership costs £2 per month, billed automatically to your payment method through Stripe until you cancel. The price includes VAT where it applies. Where VAT is charged, it is paid to the tax authority and is not part of the split described below.
The remaining (net) amount of each payment is divided equally: half supports the exclusive offers programme and the running of the platform, and half is allocated to The Company that Helps Fund. Payment processing fees are met by The Company that Helps Ltd out of the offers half, so the fund half is not reduced by card charges. Fund money is tracked in a separate ledger and is reported publicly in aggregate on our impact pages.
The fund is operated by The Company that Helps Ltd. It is a discretionary company-run support fund, not a registered charity, and awards are not donations or gifts made on your behalf. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change.
3. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future payments and your membership benefits continue until the end of the paid period, after which offer reveals, voucher downloads and saved offers are locked.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a new membership. Because the membership gives you immediate access to digital content and offers, you agree that access starts straight away; if you cancel within 14 days we will refund your first payment in full unless you have already revealed a discount code, in which case we may deduct a proportionate amount for the period used. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, and where a refund is due we honour it in full — including the fund half, which The Company that Helps Ltd covers rather than clawing back from the fund.
Outside the 14-day period, payments already made are not refunded, because the fund half may already have been committed to an applicant. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@thecompanythathelps.com.
4. Failed payments
If a payment fails we will retry it and email you. Premium access pauses while the subscription is unpaid and resumes as soon as payment succeeds.
5. Using offers
Offers and discount codes are provided by independent brand partners and are for your personal use only. Codes must not be shared, resold or published. Each brand sets its own terms, expiry dates and stock limits, and the contract for any purchase is between you and that brand. We remove offers that are found to be inaccurate or unavailable.
6. Brand partners
Brands may register free of charge. Listings go live only after review, and we may reject or remove any brand or offer that is misleading, unlawful, unsafe or inconsistent with the platform's purpose. Brands are responsible for honouring every published offer, for the accuracy of their listings and for holding any licences their sector requires. Brands receive aggregated performance data only and never receive member identities.
7. The Company that Helps Fund
Applications to the fund are reviewed on their merits by a small review team. Submitting an application does not guarantee an award, and the fund's available balance is finite. We may ask for supporting information to verify an application, and we may pay an award to a third party (for example an energy supplier) where that is the safest way to help.
Providing false information may result in an award being withdrawn and the account being closed. Decisions are made in good faith against published criteria. If you disagree with a decision you can ask for it to be reviewed by a different reviewer within 30 days, and you can complain to us at support@thecompanythathelps.com. We keep an auditable record of every award and every payment made from the fund.
The fund is not a loan, an insurance product or a regulated financial service, and we do not provide debt advice. If you are in crisis or at immediate risk, please contact the emergency services or a specialist support organisation — we are not an emergency service.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the platform, access other people's data, scrape content, or misuse codes and vouchers. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, and we keep audit logs of administrative actions.
9. Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee that any particular offer, saving or award will be available. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise our liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid in the previous 12 months.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a revised date. Material changes will be emailed to members. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
